Air General, founded in 1961, and continuously operating as a family business for over 60 years, is a US based Airline and Ocean cargo/freight handling and warehousing company based in Portsmouth, NH, with 34 facilities spread throughout the United States, over 31 Airlines handled, and over 700 expert employees, we are one of the premier ground handling companies based in the US.

Since 1961, we've steadily expanded to become one of the largest networks of independent handling companies in the U.S. We operate over one quarter million Sq. Feet of customs-bonded warehouse space, and handle over 548 Million LBS of cargo annually in 21 states at some of the nation's major airports. We offer a variety of services you won't find anywhere else.

Robert M. Maloney Jr.

Chairman of the Board of Directors (Principal)

Robert M. Maloney, Jr. has over 36 years of experience in the airfreight industry. After completing two years of studies at Hawthorne College in New Hampshire, and two years of service with the U. S. Army in Munich, Germany, he began his career with Intercontinental Air Freight in 1968 in the customs house brokerage department. In 1976 he transferred to Air General where he supervised all areas of the company’s ramp handling and warehouse operations in Boston. As the company grew, Bob advanced from operations management to corporate management where he focused on the duties of treasurer. In 1996 he assumed the role of Senior Vice President and COO with overall responsibility for the operations of the company. Bob was elected President in 1998.

Patrick Maloney


Patrick Maloney joined Air General’s corporate office in Peabody Massachusetts in 2005. He started his aviation career in a cargo handling warehouse in Boston in 1999. He graduated from Northeastern University in 2004 with a triple major in Management Information Systems, Entrepreneurship and Finance. While rounding out his education Patrick worked as a Financial Advisor and in Information Technology before returning to Air General in 2005. After serving as Chief Financial Officer during which time he was responsible for all company finances and technology, Patrick was named President in January 2015.

Andy Reeves

Vice President Business Development

Andy (John) Reeves joined Air General as Vice President Business Development in May of 2018. Andy brings more than 30 years of experience in all levels of the aviation industry. He served as Senior Vice President of Operations and Sales for BBA Aviation/Aircraft Service International Group (ASIG) from 2007 – 2014, and as a Board Member and Audit Chairman for Air T, Inc. (NASDAQ: AIRT) from 2013 -2018. Andy joined Silver Airways as Chief Operating Officer of the airline in March 2015; there he directed all aspects of Silver Airways’ day-to-day operations. At Air General, in his role as Vice President, Business Development, Andy will work with current and new customers to ensure that our partnerships are strong and long lasting.

Kenneth Coleman

Vice President of Operations

A fifteen year veteran with Air General, Ken managed our Miami Ocean Operation, and subsequently our Tampa Air Operation, including an FTZ, until 2000. Ken then transitioned into our General Manager of our Charlotte Hub for over 12 years, and has many skills along with considerable domestic and international expertise. After Charlotte, Ken was promoted to the Home Office as a Regional Field Director, Operations and Compliance for the South Region, managing several stations. In 2019, Ken was promoted to Director of Operations. Then in 2020, Ken was again promoted to Vice President of Operations, in charge of all operational aspects of Air General. Ken will support and increase the oversight of our stations, and aims to strengthen operational compliance and customer service in our expanding network.

Donna Blanchard

Vice President of Passenger Service

Donna joined Air General in October 2012 after 32 years with British Airways. A graduate of Georgetown University, with an MBA from Central Michigan University, Donna held various executive level positions with the airline. As Director of Cargo Midwest Region, she managed operations and sales while participating in a complete re-engineering of World Cargo. Her most recent roles in Passenger Service included serving as Vice President Customer Contact, where she worked on the restructuring of Call Management, and then Director, Customer Service Delivery for North America & Asia Pacific. At Air General, Donna maintained responsibility for customer contracts and facility leases while sourcing new business and creating new opportunities for the company. The success of the Air General Passenger Concierge Meet and Greet program is what led Donna to change her focus from cargo to widening the scope of Passenger Service at airports across the USA.

Jeff Lyter

Director of Compliance

Jeff joined the company in August 2002. He has over 14 years of experience in the International Air Cargo Industry. He also served 7 years in the U.S. Air Force, as an F-16 Avionics Maintenance Instructor and Technician and worked in several countries throughout the world. Jeff was with British Airways for 14 years and brings to the company experience in project management, and overall airline cargo operations. He is responsible for corporate safety and security compliance, working closely with each Air General station manager, and ensuring the safety of our operations and compliant conduct of our cargo handling business.

Gerard Donias

Director of Operations

Gerard is a 21 year veteran of the Aviation Industry holding many different titles along the way. During his 14 years at Lufthansa German Airlines, he began as a Ticket Agent and held many leadership roles within the company. Through the following years, with Air General, he held a number of management responsibilities ranging from supervision, Station Manager, Regional Field Director of Operations, and as the Director of Operations overseeing 29 cities across the network.

Timothy Cotter

Manager Training and Leadership Development

Tim joined Air General in 2015. Having retired from Piedmont/US Airways in 2003 with 18 years of Arline experience, serving as Training, Administration and Passenger Service Manager in his tenure. Tim spent 9 years working with logistics and store operations at Sears before joining the Air General team. Tim has put together a Learning Management System for the company which addresses local, state, federal and elemental training needs along with developmental programs for individual core development and leadership. The Leadership Program focuses on strengthening our core leadership team to provide solid informed leaders that understand how to lead, handle change and grow with at Air General.
